ZEV Related Policies
A proposed amendment, published in May 2023, aims to reinforce Québec’s ZEV standard. The amendment increases the credit requirements imposed on car manufacturers and increases the vehicle target from 1.6 million to 2 million ZEVs on roads in 2030. It would also set a requirement for 100% of new cars to be ZEVs in 2035.
Charging Infrastructure Policies
Hydro-Québec, a state-owned electric utility, will increase the number of fast-charge stations to 2,500 by 2030, and roll out up to 4,500 standard charging stations, mainly in city centers. The government will cover 50% of total installation costs up to $5,000 per Level 2 charger. There are programs for multi-family and workplace use cases, with a maximum rebate of $25,000 per organization annually.Hydro-Québec, a state-owned electric utility, will increase the number of fast-charge stations to 2,500 by 2030, and roll out up to 4,500 standard charging stations, mainly in city centers. Vehicle Incentives
The Roulez Vert program offers rebates to purchase or lease a new electric vehicle. The amount depends on the vehicle type: $7,000 for a BEV or FCEV; $5,000 or $2,500 for a PHEV; and $3,500 for a used BEV.
