Under the EU CO2 standards, all new cars and vans must have zero CO2 emissions from 2035. The Electromobility Development Plan (2021) laid out a target of 1 million EVs by 2025.

Charging Infrastructure Policies
Under the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) Member States are required to ensure a minimum total power output is provided through publicly accessible recharging stations and that fast-charging pools are installed along major European traffic corridors. The PLN 870 million infrastructure support program targets installing 17,000 electric car charging points and 20 hydrogen refueling stations across the country. The grant will cover up to 50% of public charging and refueling station construction, depending on the power capacity.
