ZEV Related Policies
All new light-duty vehicle sales will be zero-emission by 2025.

Charging Infrastructure Policies
Norway adopted a market-based approach to charging infrastructure deployment and invested in fast-charging networks in the early stages. The government installed fast-charging stations every 50 km on all main roads.

Vehicle Incentives
Norway implemented purchase incentives, and exempted registration tax, VAT, and road traffic insurance tax for EVs since the 1990s. From 2023, the country will introduce value-added on EV purchases over NOK 500,000. Enova, a government body funding energy and climate projects, allocated NOK 750 million to electric van purchases between 2019 and 2023. As of 1 June 2023, Enova will no longer provide support for EVs.
