Under the EU CO2 standards, all new cars and vans must have zero CO2 emissions from 2035.

Charging Infrastructure Policies
Under the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) Member States are required to ensure a minimum total power output is provided through publicly accessible recharging stations and that fast-charging pools are installed along major European traffic corridors. Through funding from the European Commission’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, Croatia will install 1,300 charging stations for electric vehicles.

Vehicle Incentives
Croatia has an annual incentive scheme to subsidize the transition to EVs. Individuals may qualify for €9,291 for BEVs and €5,309 for PHEVs. Electric vehicles are exempt from paying environmental tax and annual vehicle tax.
