Charging Infrastructure Policies
The “Cabo Verde – Electric Vehicles” project, also known as “ProMEC,” focuses on enhancing EV charging infrastructure. The project has €7.2 million in funding through May 2025 and aims to assist the government in implementing its electric vehicle promotion strategy to achieve significant market penetration. It will support acquiring and establishing 40 commercial and 55 private EV charging stations.

Vehicle Incentives
Cape Verde has exempted customs duty and VAT for imported EVs and has an internationally supported rebate program for covering the incremental purchase cost of EVs compared to ICE vehicles.
